Weekly Bulletin - September 5, 2025

Dear Eagle Families,

Welcome back! We are excited to begin another school year together at Don Ross! Whether your child is returning or joining us for the first time, we look forward to a year of learning, growth, and connection. The first week of school is an important time for students and staff to settle into routines, build relationships, and create a positive foundation for the months ahead. Here are a few updates and reminders:

First Week Highlights

  • Schedules & Routines – Teachers will guide students through class schedules, lockers, school routines, and expectations.
  • Community Building – The first week focuses on team-building, goal-setting, and creating welcoming classroom environments.

A Few Reminders

  • Communication – Please check your email regularly for school updates.
  • Student Safety – Students are expected to be in class during instructional time. We will continue to practice emergency drills (including fire, earthquake, and hold & secure) throughout the year.
  • Contacting Us – If you have any questions about schedules, supports, or upcoming events, please reach out to the school office at [email protected]
  • Punctuality Matters: Please ensure your child arrives on time and ready to learn. Students arriving late must check in at the office so attendance can be recorded correctly.
  • Stay Connected: Daily morning announcements are posted on our website. For updates on clubs, teams, and school activities, please check the daily update link on

We are thrilled to have our students back in the building and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they will accomplish this year. Thank you for your continued support and partnership and looking forward to seeing you at our open house on Tuesday!

Volunteer Positions:

There are a couple of areas that we would love to fill as soon as possible.

We need volunteers to help pick up from Helping Hands and from the Over55 which is located at 1211 Village Green Way and deliver to Don Ross Middle School in the mornings..  We have a coordinator and if this is something that you can help us with, please email [email protected] and we will put you in touch with the coordinator.

Hot Lunches:

My name is Andrea Yeung-Meadows, the Hot Lunch Volunteer Coordinator and I'm looking for volunteers to help out with our program this year. Time commitment is 1.5 hours around lunchtime and could be as frequently as every week to once a month, or even just be a spare!

Grade 7 Hot Lunches are on Tuesdays (beginning Sept 16)
Grade 8 Hot Lunches are on Wednesdays (Sept 17)
Grade 9 Hot Lunches are on Thursdays (Sept 18)

Every week, you can pre-order a variety of pizzas from Panago, a variety of bowls and wraps from Freshii; as well as cookies from Bean&Co. Menu items don't change throughout the year, we only ever order from these three local establishments (organized by our office staff).

If you would like to volunteer, please SEND ME AN EMAIL AT [email protected]

 and include:

1. your email address and phone number

2. level of interest (each week, monthly, or only a spare)

3. what day (or grade) you would like to volunteer for

4. If there is someone you want to be paired with, please let me know that too. I want this to be fun for everyone!

I look very forward to hearing from you.
Andrea YM
