Dear Eagles,
September has been such a wonderful, busy and exciting start to our school year. We have been clear with students regarding off campus at break times, specifically the Brackendale Art Gallery and the General Store. We are hopeful we can create some health partnerships with the community and local business in the near future, but we have not been able to arrange supervision or permissions at this point. Please remind your students to bring lunch.
We also want to recognize the incredible spirit and teamwork shown in athletics this month. Congratulations to our student-athletes who represented Don Ross on the track and the volleyball court. Thank you!
A big thank-you to our staff for their dedication in making September such a positive and successful month. The energy, care, and commitment you bring to our students each day make all the difference.
Finally, a reminder that our Eagle Awards for student recognition will be drawn this Tuesday. These awards celebrate students who demonstrate our school values and contribute positively to the Don Ross community.
Thank you for your continued support as we build momentum together this fall.

Sock-tober with Squamish Helping Hands
This October, we're collecting socks to help keep our community warm and healthy.
A clean, dry pair of socks can prevent blisters, infections, and bring real comfort to
someone living without shelter.
Each night in Canada, thousands of people live on the streets.
In Squamish, at least 125 people experience homelessness-living outside, in
vehicles, or accessing our emergency shelter program.
Your donation of socks brings care and dignity to our neighbours in need.
Help us reach our goal of collecting 1000 pairs of socks.
Helping Hands has dropped off a bin for our collection of socks and will be picking it up at the end of October.
District PAC Presentation:
Join us in person at the Eagle Eye Community Theatre or online for a special parent presentation brought to you by DPAC, SD48 & Beacon Psychology, this session will explore how anxiety impacts children and youth. Dr. Negreiros, lead developer of the SD48 EASE program (Everyday Anxiety Strategies for Educators) currently used in our schools, will share practical insights and strategies to support families. Emma is from a local not for profit called the Skill Shift Collective (https://www.instagram.com/skillshiftcollective/?hl=en). They have been putting on monthly events for people dealing with injury or feeling isolated in Squamish for the last 2 years. On October 15th they are putting on a teen board game night at Cloudburst Cafe at the Locavore and would like to invite any teens that may be interested. Parents/caregivers are also welcome to come along and support.
