Math and Science

Where possible we strive to integrate the study of mathematics with the science curriculum concepts.  Students find that this approach creates more meaningful and deeper understanding of math as it used in real life applications.  Math skills are developed through application and practice, solving problems and using mathematical arguments to make decisions in a variety of situations from the study of statistics to financial literacy.  The acquisition of numeracy skills takes place throughout the student’s education and builds from year to year.

The outcomes of our science program also allow students to develop an understanding and appreciation of  the world around them and how science concepts such as geology affects them in everyday life. By actively involving the student in the scientific process, this course encourages the development of the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for scientific literacy.
